Janet A. Zaorski, 85, of 32 Baker St. died Friday at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility in Pittsfield, where she had resided for three weeks. Born in Bayonne, N.J., on Aug. 17, 1919, daughter of John and Katarzyna Kubik Osak, she was educated in schools in Housatonic. Mrs. Zaorski was a homemaker. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, growing orchids and bird watching. During the Korean War, she knitted for the soldiers. Her husband, Stanley Zaorski, whom she married Oct. 2, 1937, in Housatonic, died April 19, 1995. She leaves four daughters, Barbara Croteau of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Ann Harrison of Dalton, Kathleen Storie of Lanesboro and Jane Langer of Lee; a brother, Stanley Osak of Housatonic, nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren, and two step-great-grandchildren. Another daughter, Joan K. Zaorski, died in 1949. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A private home service for Janet A. Zaorski, 85, of Lanesboro, who died Dec. 24, 2004, will be held at DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME in Dalton. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 6 at the funeral home. She also leaves four sons-in-law, Leo Croteau, James Harrison, David Storie and Jerry Langer; nine grandchildren, with whom she enjoyed spending time, Curt and Heather Croteau, Jim and Jeff Harrison, Matthew Snow, Glenn Storie, Lisa Dean, Debbie Storie and Andrea Storie, and six great-grandchildren, Jaclyn, Melanie, Michael, Jessica, Nicole and Nathan. She also leaves two step-grandchildren, Michael Langer and Cheryl Cordova, and two step-great-grandchildren, Matthew and Blake. She was predeceased by two brothers, Theodore and Adam Osak. The omission of flowers is requested, and memorial donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home, 890 Main St., Dalton, MA 01226.
