Salema Rachel Miller, 77, of 32 Washington Ave. died Wednesday at North Adams Regional Hospital. Born in North Adams on July 21, 1927, daughter of Anthony and Emma Otis Ziter, she attended local schools. Mrs. Miller was employed for several years at Emily's Snack Bar in Lanesboro. She was a communicant of St. Francis' Church and enjoyed playing bingo. Her husband, Herbert "Bud" Miller Jr., whom she married Sept. 3, 1953, in St. Francis' Church, died June 17, 2003. She leaves a sister, Lillian Carusotto of Pittsfield, and two brothers, Alphonse J. Ziter of Pittsfield and Louis R. Ziter of North Adams. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Salema Rachel Ziter Miller will be Monday at 10:15 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St., North Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 at St. Francis of Assisi Church in North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005, from 3 to 6. Memorial donations are suggested for the American Lung Association through the funeral home. She was predeceased by five sisters, Emily Taglieri, Nabeho Skorupski, Rae Conti, Schevia "Shaffy" Lafave and Rosa Sanginetti, and by a brother, Deeb Ziter.
