Margaret Ann "Margie" Gwozdz

Margaret Ann "Margie" Gwozdz, 57, of 93 Church St., died early yesterday morning at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Pittsfield on May 29, 1947, daughter of Frank and Stella Augustyniak Gwozdz, she attended schools in Cheshire. Miss Gwozdz was self-employed for many years as a baby sitter for many Cheshire families. She was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Cheshire, where she was a member of its choir and bazaar committee. She enjoyed reading, knitting and spending time with her family and friends. She leaves two brothers, Francis A. Gwozdz of Cheshire and Edward H. Gwozdz, with whom she resided, and a sister, Christine Barbarotta of Branford, Conn. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Margaret "Margie" Gwozdz will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 8, at 8:45 a.m. from the AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Cheshire, celebrated by the Rev. David R. Raymond, pastor. Burial will be in Cheshire Cemetery in the spring. Calling hours are Monday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary of the Assumption Church or to the Cheshire Volunteer Fire Department, through the funeral home. Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Mark Gwozdz, Kerry McMahon, Lisa Gwozdz, Kelly Barbarotta, Karen Patch, Nikki Barbarotta and Christopher Gwozdz, and several grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Rosemary Gwozdz, in 1940.
