Olive Patton

Olive Patton, 100, of 1018 Middle Road died yesterday morning at North Adams Commons. Born in Stamford, Vt., on July 31, 1904, daughter of Samuel and Mabel Taylor Coulter, she moved to Alcorn, Wis., as a child and attended schools there. After moving to Clarksburg, Mrs. Patton was employed by the former Strong-Hewat Woolen Mill for about 10 years. She was a member of Stamford Community Church and of its Women's Christian Fellowship. She also was a member of the Stamford Senior Nutrition Program. She enjoyed music and planting flowers. Her husband, Charles E. Patton, whom she married Nov. 21, 1936, in Stamford, died May 31, 1979. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A graveside service for Olive Coulter Patton will be held in the springtime at the family lot in Clarksburg Cemetery with Willard Busl offering a prayer service. There will be no calling hours. FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, Central Chapels, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247 is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include several close friends. Her sister, Maddie Burson is deceased.

Olive’s sister Maddie Burson is my paternal grandmother. Alcorn Wisconsin is actually Elkhorn where Maddie lived.
