June M. Nelson, 66, of 81 South St. died Saturday at Berkshire Medical Center after a long illness. Born in Far Rockaway, N.Y., on March 29, 1938, daughter of De Max and Reva VanDyke Morgan Mays, she was a 1953 graduate of John Adams High School in South Ozone Park, N.Y. She also attended Hudson Valley Community and Russell Sage colleges. She moved to Cheshire 32 years ago from Troy, N.Y. Mrs. Nelson was employed as an office manager for M.J. Gordon Co., retiring in 2001. She was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. She and her husband, Gustave G. Nelson, were married May 30, 1970, at Charlotte Amalie St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, David Andrew Nelson of Buzzards Bay and Eric Christopher Nelson of Atlanta, and two sisters, Joyce Sledge and Jean Middleton, both of Nicholson, Pa. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Mrs. June M. Nelson, who died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005, will be Wednesday, Jan. 19, with a Requiem Eucharist at 9 at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church conducted by the Rev. Gwen Sears. Burial will be in the family plot at Evergreen-Woodlawn Cemetery in Factoryville, Pa. Calling hours for Mrs. Nelson will be at DWYER FUNERAL HOME tomorrow, Jan. 18, from 4 to 7. Mrs. Nelson also leaves her beloved daughter-in-law, Tara M. Nelson, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. Stephen's Table or to the Cheshire Volunteer Fire Dept., both in care of the funeral home.
