Steven Leonard Cahoon Sr

Steven Leonard Cahoon Sr., 46, of 850 Oberdorf Road, Readsboro, Vt., died Monday at his home. Born in North Adams on Aug. 4, 1958, son of Barbara May Lewitt Cahoon, currently of Clarksburg, and the late Alton Leroy Cahoon Jr., he attended school in Clarksburg and attended Drury High School in North Adams. He was employed in Stamford, Vt., for most of his life as a sawyer for the Potvin Lumber Yard and later for the Eagle Lumber Co., where he was employed at the time of his death. He was a devoted father who enjoyed watching his children participate in all their sporting activities. He also enjoyed hunting, golfing, snowmobiling and horse pulling. He and his wife, the former Jean Superneau Cahoon, were married Sept. 14, 1985, in Clarksburg. Mr. Cahoon also leaves two sons, Christopher Joseph Cahoon of North Adams and Steven Leonard Cahoon Jr. of Clarksburg; a daughter, Erica Lynn Cahoon of Williamstown; four sisters, Ronnalee Porey of Arcadia, Fla., Alana Kocsis of Merrimack, N.H., Patricia Brown of Adams and Susan Montgomery of Oxford, Pa.; six brothers, William E. Kelly, Wayne R. Cahoon and Michael J. Cahoon Sr., all of Clarksburg, Mark A. Cahoon and Charles R. Cahoon, both of North Adams, and Craig A. Cahoon of Pittsfield. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Steven Leonard Cahoon Sr. will take place Monday morning at 8:15 at the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, WEST CHAPELS 521 West Main St., North Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, North Adams. Burial will take place in the springtime in the family plot in Clarksburg Cemetery, Clarksburg. Calling hours at the funeral home are Sunday from 3 to 7. Memorial donations are suggested for the Drury High School Athletic Department through the funeral home. Survivors also include his father- and mother-in-law, Richard and Helen Kingston Superneau of Clarksburg.
