Lorraine M. Holzman

Lorraine M. Holzman, 88, of Round Hill Road died Sunday morning at home. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on March 20, 1916, daughter of Theodore and Maude Leerhsen Bumstead, she graduated from John Adams High School in Queens and moved to Great Barrington in 1941. She enjoyed traveling around the country with her late husband, Frederick C. Holzman, in their Air Stream trailer, wintering in Florida at the Travel Rest Resort in Dade City. Mrs. Holzman also was an avid gardener and enjoyed hooking rugs. She was a member of the Travelers Rest Cloggers and a 40-year member of the Wally Byan Caravan Club. She and her husband were married Jan. 16, 1937, in Howard Beach, N.Y. He died June 20, 2001. She leaves a brother, Theodore Bumstead ofNew York state, and her friends and caregivers, Tom and Christine Warner of Great Barrington. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Calling hours for Lorraine M. Holzman, who died Feb. 20, 2005, will be Thursday, Feb. 24, from 4 to 7 at FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME in Great Barrington. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. She is survived by her special friends and caregivers, Tom and Christine Warner, and their children, Katherine and Daniel, of Great Barrington, and several nieces and nephews. Contributions in Mrs. Holzman's memory may be made to the Southern Berkshire Volunteer Ambulance Squad through the funeral home, 426 Main St., Great Barrington, MA 01230.
