William W. Lokker

William W. Lokker, 69, of 6 Ramsay Ave. died yesterday at Great Barrington Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Born in Jersey City, N.J., on Oct. 5, 1935, son of Warren and Lillian Christianson Lokker, he graduated from Dickenson High School there. He moved to Great Barrington in 1970. An Army veteran, he served during Korean War. Mr. Lokker was employed as a tool and die operator at Becton Dickinson & Co. in Canaan, Conn., for 28 years, retiring in January 1998. He also worked weekends at the Coffee Shop, formerly Spudnuts. He enjoyed reading and the outdoors, and was a Red Sox fan. He and his wife, the former Nettie H. Diller, were married Nov. 5, 1958. Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Matthew Lokker of Winsted, Conn.; a daughter, Denise Lokker of Pittsfield; a brother, Robert Lokker of California; a sister, Elaine Duplissey of Catawissa, Pa., three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for William W. Lokker, who died Feb. 21, 2005, will be conducted Friday, Feb. 25, at 9:30 at BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME by the Rev. Charles Van Ausdall. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends tomorrow, Feb. 24, from 6 to 9 at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires or to the VNA of the Berkshires in care of the funeral home, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230.
