Mary A. Boris

Mary A. Boris, 83, of 899 South Main St. died Monday at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. Born in Great Barrington on Aug. 15, 1921, daughter of Ignatius and Sophia Bazonski Badurski, she attended local schools. A crossing guard for many years, Mrs. Boris also worked at the former Rising Paper Co. as a paper sorter and at the former Monument Mills. She was a communicant of St. Peter's Church and enjoyed going to the Senior Center, playing bingo and doing crossword puzzles. Her husband, Alex J. Boris, whom she married Sept. 14, 1946, in St. Peter's Church, died June 5, 1988. She leaves a son, Gary J. Boris of Gadsen, Ala.; two brothers, Joseph Badurski of Stockbridge and Steven Badurski of Great Barrington; two sisters, Alice Olender and Regina Darcy, both of Great Barrington; a granddaughter, and three great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Mary A. Boris, who died Monday, Feb. 28, 2005, will be Thursday, March 3, at 9 at BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Peter's Church celebrated by the Rev. Shaun O'Connor, MIC, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery. The family will receive friends today, Wednesday, from 4 to 6 at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy in Mary's memory may be made to the St. Peter's Ramp Fund c/of the funeral home, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230.
