Evelyn M. Epps

Evelyn M. Epps, 67, of 331 Bradley St. died Sunday at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. Born in Pittsfield on Nov. 24, 1937, daughter of George and Agnes Aldrich Crane, she was educated in Lee schools and was a 1957 graduate of Lee High School. Mrs. Epps was a waitress at Joe's Diner for 35 years, retiring in the 1990s. She was a member of St. George's Episcopal Church and was a member of bowling leagues in Lee and Great Barrington, participating in many tournaments. She and her husband, George H. Epps, were married July 16, 1972. Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Brian G. Epps of Lee; two brothers, George Crane and William Crane, both of Becket, and three sisters, Rose M. Crittendon of Otis, Lillian M. Dellea of Great Barrington and Carol A. Mascowski of Holyoke. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Evelyn died peacefully Sunday after facing her various illnesses with courage and dignity. Her brother, Joseph Crane, died in 1998. The funeral will be conducted Wednesday, March 9, at 11 at St. George's Episcopal Church in Lee by the Rev. Canon Noel A. Bailey, rector. Cremation will follow. Visiting hours will be today, Tuesday, from 4 to 7 at KELLY FUNERAL HOME.
