Donald Paul Crine

Donald Paul Crine, 68, of Division Street died Saturday at home after a long illness. Born in Great Barrington on June 9, 1936, son of John and Helen M. Briggs Crine, he attended schools there, including the former Searles High School. He was a member of the Marine Corps, serving from 1954 to 1956. Mr. Crine was employed by Mead Corp., now MeadWestvaco Corp., for more than 30 years, retiring in the 1990s because of ill health. Before that, he worked for Barberi Lumber Co. and for the town of Monterey. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and working in his garden. He and his wife, the former Janice Gordinier, were married May 17, 1968, in Hillsdale, N.Y. Besides his wife, he leaves four daughters, Jennifer Crine, Pamela Crine and Kathleen Crine, all of Great Barrington, and June Lovett of Housatonic; a son, Donald J. Crine of Great Barrington; two stepdaughters, Phyllis Besanceney Conway of Pittsfield and Beverly Soules of Housatonic; two stepsons, Michael Besanceney of Becket and Roger Besanceney of Great Barrington; three brothers, John Crine of Dover Plain, N.Y., Richard Crine of Sheffield and Everett Crine of Cazenovia, Wis.; two sisters, Judith Moro of Great Barrington and Alice Jacquins of Housatonic; 18 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Donald Paul Crine, 68, of Division Street died in Great Barrington on March 12, 2005. He was predeceased by two sisters, Jean Pixley and Joan Stupplebeen, and by a brother, Robert Crine Sr. Donald cherished spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. There will be no services at this time.
