Marie Helene Guano

Marie Helene Guano, 85, of the Village at Laurel Lake died Saturday morning at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. Born in Philadelphia on Dec. 17, 1919, daughter of William R. and Mary A. Kelly Flynn, she was a 1937 graduate of West Philadelphia High School. She also lived in Marlton, N.J., and in Cocoa Beach, Fla., where she resided for more than 25 years. She had moved to the assisted living facility in 2001. Mrs. Guano was a homemaker. While in Cocoa Beach, she was a communicant of the Church of Our Savior. She was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed traveling, especially to Europe, and sewing and knitting. Her husband, David Michael Guano, whom she married Sept. 5, 1942, in Philadelphia, died Nov. 18, 1987. She leaves a daughter, Lynn Nadorff of Lenox; a sister, Agnes Veronica White of Wildwood, N.J., and two grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The family of Mrs. Marie Helene Guano, who died March 26, 2005, will receive friends Wednesday from 7:45 to 8:30 at ROCHE FUNERAL HOME in Lenox. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will follow at 9 at St. Ann's Church in Lenox, celebrated by the Rev. Christopher Waitekus, pastor. Private burial will be at a later date in Philadelphia. Marie also is survived by her beloved grandchildren, Danielle Atcheson of Denver and Nicholas D. Nadorff of Lenox. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Ann's Church Parish Center Fund.
