Julia Ciolina

Julia Ciolina, 80, of Maple Avenue died Wednesday at home after a lengthy illness. Born in Great Barrington on May 9, 1924, daughter of Harry L. and Edna M. Cooper, she was a graduate of the former Searles High School. She also attended the McLean School of Nursing in Waltham. Mrs. Ciolina was last employed in the bookkeeping department at Fairview Hospital, retiring in 1986. From 1960 until 1975, she worked at Kimberly-Clark Corp. in Lee. She was a communicant of St. Peter's Church. She was a former member of the James A. Modolo Post 8348 VFW Auxiliary and a member of the former Daughters of Isabella. Her husband, Francis Ciolina, whom she married Nov. 24, 1945, died Dec. 16, 1998. She leaves a son, John Reed Ciolina of Great Barrington and Vero Beach, Fla. She was predeceased by another son, Dale, in 1953. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Julia Ciolina of Great Barrington died March 30, 2005. She was predeceased by a son, Dale, in 1953. She is survived by her son, John Reed Ciolina, and his wife Cheryl of Great Barrington and Vero Beach, Fla. She also leaves her most loyal dog "Barney" at home. Services in May will be private.
