Gertrude Elizabeth Harvey

Gertrude Elizabeth Harvey, 94, of 128 East Road died early yesterday morning at Williamstown Commons. Born in Adams on Nov. 15, 1910, daughter of George and Elizabeth Goodermote Frenya, her family moved to Chicopee and she attended schools there, returning to Adams as a teenager. A homemaker, Mrs. Harvey had assisted her husband, Thomas O. Harvey, for many years in the operation of his business, T.J. Harvey & Sons General Contractors. She was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church and of the former Adams Study Club. She enjoyed traveling and spending winters in Zephyrhills, Fla. Her husband, whom she married April 25, 1930, died Aug. 20, 2000. She leaves a son, Thomas O. Harvey Jr. of Slidell, La.; two daughters, Elizabeth G. Randall of Adams and Susan A. Harvey of Ashland; five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Gertrude Harvey, who died April 4, 2005, will be held Thursday, April 7, at 10 from AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Requiem Eucharist celebrated at 11 in St. Mark's Episcopal Church by the Rev. Edward King, rector of St. John's Episcopal Church, North Adams. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours will be tomorrow, April 6, from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she also leaves a daughter-in-law, Jonette Harvey; a son-in-law, Robert Randall; her daughter Susan's partner, Victoria Johnson; five grandchildren, Jeffrey Harvey, Margo Landry, Carolee Dalton, Kathleen Santeufemio and Mark Randall; seven great-grandchildren, Toby and Katharine Harvey, Jennifer Comeaux, Megan and Mitchell Dalton, and Isabella and Benjamin Santeufemio; a sister-in-law, Irene Phelps of Greenfield; a niece, and two nephews. She was predeceased by a grandson, Craig Harvey; her daughter-in-law, Virginia Poirier Harvey; two brothers, Raymond and Vincent Frenya; and two sisters, Marion Chouinard and a sister who died in infancy.
