Rose Hunt

Rose Hunt, 92, formerlyof Pleasant Street died yesterday at the nursing facility at the Village at Laurel Lake. Born in Housatonic on Aug. 18, 1912, daughter of Frank and Helena Pothul Siok, she attended schools there and in Great Barrington. She had lived in East Lee from 1952 to 1958. Mrs. Hunt was employed by Rising Paper Co., now Fox River Paper, in Housatonic, retiring in 1977 as a quality control inspector. During World War II, she worked at GE in Pittsfield for a short time. She was a communicant of St. Francis' Church in South Lee for more than 57 years. While in Housatonic, she was a communicant of All Saints' Church and a member of its Rosary Society and choir. She enjoyed cooking, and spending time in her vegetable and flower gardens. She also enjoyed traveling, having visited Canada, the Caribbean, Poland, Portugal and Spain, as well as many U.S. states. Her husband, Wilbur J. Hunt Sr., whom she married Oct. 15, 1938, died March 10, 1987. She leaves a son, Wilbur J. Hunt Jr. of South Lee; a daughter, Rose Mary Ford of South Lee; seven grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Rose Hunt, who died April 6, 2005, will be Saturday at 9:15 from KELLY FUNERAL HOME in Lee, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Francis' Church in South Lee. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Friday from 4 to 7 at the funeral home. Friends wishing may make donations to the Shriners' Children's Hospital Burn Unit in care of the funeral home, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
