Harriet Alice Dastoli, 87, of 125 Burke Ave. died yesterday morning at home. Born in Pittsfield on June 9, 1917, daughter of Jules E. and Henriette Marquis Gilliotte, she attended Pittsfield schools. Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Dastoli and her husband, Dominic F. Dastoli, founded Dastoli Travel Agency in 1955; she sold the business several years after his death. She was a communicant of Mount Carmel Church, and enjoyed knitting, crocheting and ceramics. Her husband, whom she married Nov. 15, 1937, died Aug. 29, 1968. She leaves four daughters, Marilyn L. Ladopoulos and Diatra M. "Dee Dee" Dastoli both of Clifton Park, N.Y., Patricia A. "Trish" Kellar of Pittsfield and Donna F. Dastoli-Garey of Hercules, Calif.; three sons, Robert A., Dastoli, Richard F. Dastoli, and William A. Dastoli all of Pittsfield; a brother, Eugene Gillette of Pittsfield; a sister, Marie Stokes of Sun City, Fla.; 12 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Another daughter, Beverly Ann Dastoli, died in 1949. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Harriet A. Dastoli, the Best Mother in the World, will be held Saturday at 8:15 from DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 9 at St. Charles' Church by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Friday from 4 to 7. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations in her memory may be made to HospiceCare of the Berkshires or to Elder Services, both in care of the funeral home. Mrs. Dastoli also is survived by her adored 12 grandchildren, Cheryl, Michelle, Nicholas, Darlene, Brian, Jeffrey, Regina, Scott, Dominic, Sarah, Matthew and Laurin, and by her cherished three great-grandchildren, Kevin, Kyle and Kristofer. Beloved mother-in-law of Harry Ladopoulos, Louie Aubuchon, Frank Kellar, Michael Garey and of Marianne and Cathy Dastoli.
