Thomas Edward Mullaney Jr.

Thomas Edward Mullaney Jr., 38, of Adamstown, Md., formerly of Cheshire, died Saturday at home, after a two-year battle with Hodgkin's lymphoma. Born in Oakland, Calif., on Feb. 4, 1967, son of Thomas E. Mullaney Sr. and Carol Gammond Mullaney of Frederick, Md., his family later moved to Cheshire and he was a 1985 graduate of Hoosac Valley High School. Mr. Mullaney was president of Eagle Furniture Installation in Annapolis, Md. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed collecting memorabilia of Dale Earnhart, Cal Ripken Jr. and the Washington Redskins. He especially enjoyed Washington-area sports teams and basketball and hockey. He played golf and had formerly coached in the Frederick (Md.) National Little League. He and his wife, the former Monique M. Gaunt, were married April 23, 1994. Besides his wife and parents, he leaves two sons, Thomas E. Mullaney III and Jamie Mullaney, both at home; two sisters, Dawn Windover of Frederick and Michelle Bielinski of East Amherst, N.Y.; a brother, Michael Mullaney of Thurmont, Md., and his paternal grandmother, Grace Mullaney of the state of Florida. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Mass of Christian Burial for Thomas E. Mullaney Jr. will be celebrated today, April 19, at 10 from St. Joseph on Carrollton Manor Catholic Church, 5843 Manor Woods Road, Buckeystown, Md., by the Rev. Lawrence K. Frazier. Graveside services and interment will be Friday, April 22, at 10 at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Pittsfield. The Rev. Geoffrey Deeker, CCS, of All Souls' Parish, will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorials in Tom's name to the Cancer Patient Assistance Fund, Attention: Sharon Evans, 501 West Seventh St., Frederick, MD 21701. KEENEY AND BASFORD FUNERAL HOME, Frederick, Md., and DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, are handling funeral arrangements.
