Nellie A. Nalty

Nellie A. Nalty, 98, of 30 Gilmore Ave. died yesterday at home. Born in Housatonic in Aug. 1, 1906, daughter of George and Anna Klimek Budz, she moved with her family to Bilalka, Poland, for two years, where she attended Grade 1. They then returned to Housatonic, and she attended local schools. Mrs. Nalty was the bookkeeper for Blue and White Taxi Co., which she and her husband, Frederick Nalty, owned and operated. She retired in 1968. Before that, she worked at the former Monument Mills Rising Paper Co. and Great Barrington Manufacturing. She was a communicant of St. Peter's Church and enjoyed gardening, bowling and the Red Sox. Her husband, whom she married Aug. 29, 1931, died Nov. 22, 1988. She leaves a brother, Joseph Budz of Housatonic; three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Her daughter, Barbara Morelli, died in 1998. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Nellie A. Nalty, who died Sunday, April 24, 2005, will be celebrated tomorrow, April 26, at 10 at St. Peter's Church by the Rev. Shaun O'Connor, M.I.C.
