Alexandria Zawistowski, 87, of 8 Burbank St. died Sunday at Berkshire Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Pittsfield on June 23, 1917, daughter of William and Vera Silen Karpeck, she was a 1935 graduate of Pittsfield High School. Mrs. Zawistowski was employed as a secretary at GE for 19 years, retiring in 1979. She attended Holy Family Church and was a member of AARP. She enjoyed reading. She and her husband, Stanley Zawistowski, would have celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary May 10. Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, William Z. Zawistowski of Las Vegas and Peter S. Zawistowski of North Reading; a daughter, Gloria A. Maston of Pittsfield; five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Alexandria Karpeck Zawistowski, 87, was called safely home on April 24, 2005. The funeral will be conducted Wednesday at 1 at DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor of St. Charles' Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. The family will receive guests from noon until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, memorial donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in care of the funeral home, 40 Maplewood Ave., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
