Rosemarie Drawec

Rosemarie Drawec, 68, of 47 Center Road died Saturday afternoon at North Adams Regional Hospital. Born in Adams on Jan. 13, 1937, daughter of Nelson and Rose Robinson Aubin, she attended schools there. Mrs. Drawec was employed as a security officer by Stop & Shop and the former Bradlees in Pittsfield for several years. She also worked for several years at the former Hunter Outdoor Products Co. and at the former Sprague Electric Co., both in North Adams. She was a communicant of the Parish of Notre Dame-St. Thomas in Adams. She was a longtime member of the National Rifle Association, the Hoosac Valley Motorcycle Club and the Gun Owners Action League. She enjoyed birds, gardening, playing bingo and cards, and was a fan of the Red Sox and Patriots. She and her husband, Donald C. Drawec, were married June 10, 1962. Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Donald Kevin Drawec of Savoy; five daughters, Karen Witek and Donna Hajdas, both of Adams, Carmen Kaczowski and Melissa Drawec, both of Savoy, and Candace Williams of North Adams; a brother, Nelson Aubin of Cheshire; 15 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Rosemarie Aubin Drawec will be Saturday, May 7, at 10:30 from AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 11 at Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church by the Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, pastor of the Parishes of Notre Dame-St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Stanislaus Kostka in Adams. Calling hours will be Saturday morning from 9 to 10:30 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Shriners' Hospital for Children in Springfield through the funeral home. Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Gailya Drawec; two sons-in-law Matthew Witek Jr. and Ronald Kaczowski, and her beloved dog, Sapphire.
