Louis C. "Jack" Coviello

Louis C. "Jack" Coviello, 79, of 3 Myrtle St. died Friday morning at North Adams Commons, where he had resided since March. Born in Chelsea on Feb. 28, 1926, son of Louis B. and Louise Carrey Coviello, he attended schools there and in Revere. He moved to Adams in 1956. An Army veteran of World War II, he served with the 82nd Airborne Division in Europe and was honorably discharged in late 1945. Mr. Coviello was last employed part time at Cascade School Supply Co. in North Adams. Before that, he was a bartender for many years at the former Mohawk Hotel until it closed, then at DD's Snack Bar on Depot Street, until retiring. He was a communicant of St. Thomas' Church. He leaves his son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Susan Coviello of Adams, who were his caregivers; three daughters, Nancy Coviello, Corrine Coviello and Jane Coviello, all of Woburn; two brothers, Robert Davis of Harmony, Maine, and Joseph Davis of Missouri. He also leaves his former wives, DuLong and Johanna Kut, both of Adams. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A prayer service in the Roman Catholic tradition will be offered in celebration of the life of Louis C. Coviello, who died April 29, 2005, tomorrow, May 2, at 3 at MCBRIDE FUNERAL HOME, 4 Liberty St., Adams, which is in charge of the arrangements. Family members will greet friends Monday from 1 to 3 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Chelsea Pines Cemetery.
