Richard F. White

Richard F. White, 57, of 95 Tamarack Ave. died Wednesday, at home after a long illness. Born in Pittsfield on Nov. 13, 1947, son of Charles and Evelyn Roberts White, he was a 1965 graduate of Pittsfield High School. He moved to Lee in the early 1990s. Mr. White was an engineering manager at Vaupell New England Molding in West Hatfield until his illness. Before that, he was employed by GE and graduated from its apprentice program in 1970. He enjoyed reading, hiking, traveling, snorkeling, bicycling and listening to jazz. He and his wife, Virginia C. Dollar, were married Oct. 18, 1997, at St. George's Church. Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Joshua D. White of Peru; two daughters, Jennifer L. Hinton of Dover, N.H., and Melissa Jordan of Pittsfield; a stepson, Jason T. Donnelly of Palmer; a stepdaughter, Dawn C. Donnelly of Lee; a brother, Alan R. White of Pittsfield; a sister, Susan B. Goodrich of Pittsfield, and five grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial service for Richard Francis White, who died April 27, 2005, will be conducted Saturday, May 14, at 10 at KELLY FUNERAL HOME in Lee by the Rev. Charles Young, hospice chaplain. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9 until the time of the service. Friends wishing may make donations to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238. Richard was predeceased by a brother, Larry White, in February 2004. He enjoyed spending time with his family and his grandchildren, Kelsea, Ronan, Emily, Dylan and Cody. He was a friend of Bill W.'s. Rich was a loving man who touched the lives of many people, including his co-workers, who valued his kindness and goodwill.
