Michele J. Chiota, 57, of 110 Commercial St. died early Monday evening at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. Born in Kingston, N.Y., on June 10, 1947, daughter of Michael J. and Julia Saban Weider, she was a 1966 graduate of Pittsfield High School. Mrs. Chiota was employed by GE as a manufacturing technician for 34 years, leaving three years ago because of poor health. She enjoyed gardening, home decorating and family activities. She and her husband, Joseph R. Chiota, were married Sept. 6, 1970. Besides her husband, she leaves three stepdaughters, Diane Caci of Medway, Debra O'Dowd of Millis, and Denise Chiota-Allen of Dover, N.H.; two brothers, Ronald Weider and John "Jack" Weider, both of Lanesborough, and five step-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Michele J. Chiota, who died Monday, May 9, 2005, leaves her five stepgrandchildren, Brian O'Dowd, Erik Caci, Danielle Caci, Kelly O'Dowd and Kristin O'Dowd. At her request, there will be no public services or calling hours. DERY-CHESHIRE FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.
