Marian Dzbenski

Marian Dzbenski, 74, of 17 Wall St. died Tuesday at North Adams Regional Hospital. Born in Siemien, Poland, on Oct. 28, 1930, son of John and Mariana Dzbenski, he attended schools in Poland. He immigrated to this country 40 years ago. Mr. Dzbenski worked as a machine operator at the former General Cable Co. in North Adams until the mill ceased operations. He then worked for several years at Commonwealth Sprague, until finally retiring. He was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi of Church. He enjoyed picking mushrooms, gardening and fishing. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren's sports games. Mr. Dzbenski leaves his wife of 51 years, the former Wanda Walczyk, whom he married on June 27, 1953. Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Thaddeus "Ted" Dzbenski of Cheshire and Joseph Dzbenski of Adams; two daughters, Teresa Jajko of Cheshire and Krystyna Dzbenski of Adams; a brother, Waclaw Dzbenski of Poland, and five grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Mr. Marian Dzbenski will be held on Friday, May 20, 2005 at 9:45 a.m. from AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church, North Adams. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. Calling hours are Thursday, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Survivors include two daughters-in-law, Julie Dzbenski of Cheshire and Janice Dzbenski of Adams; a son-in-law, Fred Jajko; five grandchildren, Adam Jajko, Derick Jajko, Mark Dzbenski and Mary Dzbenski, all of Cheshire, and Nathan Dzbenski of Adams; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Wojciech, Edward and Lucjan Dzbenski.
