Henrietta Mary Ranti, 94, of 331 Peru Road, died Monday evening at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. Born in Pittsfield on Jan. 8, 1911, daughter of James and Santina Chido Talarice, she was a graduate of local schools. She was also a graduate of Sherwood Music School in Chicago. She lived on Peru Road 25 years. A homemaker and a music teacher, Mrs. Ranti taught organ and piano in her home for 55 years. Many of her students gave recitals at the Berkshire Museum in Pittsifield. She was a communicant of Mount Carmel Church in Pittsfield and a member of its Rosary Society. She attended continuing education conferences at Sherwood Music School. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and cooking. Her husband, Nicholas Ranti, whom she married June 16, 1944, died Nov. 11, 1994. She leaves two sons, Richard Ranti of Hinsdale and James Ranti of Hartsdale, N.Y., five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Henrietta Mary Ranti, who died Monday, May 23, 2005, will be held Saturday, May 28, at 9:30 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, celebrated by the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker, CSS, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hinsdale Ambulance in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield. Mrs. Ranti is also survived by her beloved daughter-in-law, Joan (Mrs. Richard) Ranti.
