Ruth H. Dwyer, 79, of 243 Sandisfield Road died Wednesday at Fairview Hospital in Great Barrington. Born in New York City on June 28, 1925, daughter of Walter and Ella Bartzsch, she was a 1941 graduate of Morris High School in Bronx, N.Y. Mrs. Dwyer was employed by the Sandisfield Library for 18 years, retiring in 2004. She was a member of the Turnverein Gymasters Club in New York. An avid reader, she enjoyed word games, puzzles, needlework, dogs, cats and people. She provided ice cream cups at the children's reading programs that she ran. She and her husband, Francis Dwyer, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary March 10. Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Frank Dwyer of Becket; a daughter, Jane Adams of Sandisfield, and five grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Memorial Service for Ruth H. Dwyer, who died Wednesday, May 25, 2005, will be Saturday, June 11, at 2 at the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Charles VanAusdall officiating. At Ruth's request, there will be no calling hours. Expressions of sympathy in Ruth's memory may be made to the Children's Reading Program at the Sandisfield Library in care of the funeral home, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230. She leaves her grandchildren, Melissa, Brian, Jared, Meghan and Trevor. She was very home- and family-oriented.
