Margaret DuBois

Margaret DuBois, 85, of Myrtle Street Apartments died Saturday afternoon at North Adams Regional Hospital. Born in Adams on March 15, 1920, daughter of Edward and Margaret DeCoigne Harrington, she attended Adams schools and the former Lady Herman Beauty School. Mrs. DuBois was employed by the former Hectorine's Beauty Shop on Park Street for many years and by the former Adams Super Market for 10 years. She also worked as an assistant in the Hoosac Valley High School cafeteria, retiring in 1979. She was a communicant of the Parish of Notre Dame-St. Thomas and a member of the Ladies of St. Anne and the Adams Senior Citizens. Her husband, Richard DuBois, whom she married Aug. 31, 1946, died Sept. 7, 1983. She leaves a son, Paul DuBois of Torrington, Conn.; a grandson, and two great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Margaret DuBois will be Wednesday, June 1, 2005, at 9 from TROTTIER-PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Summer St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at Notre Dame Church celebrated by the Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, pastor of the Parishes of Notre Dame-St. Thomas and St. Stanislaus in Adams. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery in Adams. Calling hours at the funeral home will be tomorrow from 4 to 7. Memorial donations may be made to St. Anthony's Guild or Hospice of Northern Berkshire through the funeral home. Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Janice DuBois; a grandson, Michael Casey, and his wife, Brittany, of Manchester, N.H.; two great-grandchildren, McKenna and Keegan Casey; a niece, Gale Grande, and a nephew, Francis "Sonny" Durant. A sister, Gertrude Durant is deceased.
