Esther Muriel Dobrowolski

Esther Muriel Dobrowolski, 88, of 23 Temple St. died Thursday at North Adams Commons. Born in Pittsfield on Dec. 17, 1916, daughter of Lester and Rena Wood Phillips, she attended Adams schools and was a graduate of the former Adams High School. A homemaker most of her life, Mrs. Dobrowolski was employed briefly by the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Associates. She was a member of First Baptist Church and enjoyed swimming and rug-hooking. Her husband, Emil Dobrowolski, whom she married April 24, 1939, died Sept. 27, 1979. She leaves four daughters, Jane Crouch of Garland, Maine, Marie Cashin of Acton, Maine, and Ellen Mach and Ann Dobrowolski, both of Adams; a sister, Frances Fleming of Brooksville, Fla.; three grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Esther M. Dobrowolski will be Tuesday, May 31, at 12:15 from AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS Funeral Home, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by services at 1 at First Baptist Church of Adams conducted by the Rev. Donald E. Gray, pastor. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours will be tomorrow, May 30, from 5 to 7 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Adams or to the North Adams Adult Day Health Center, both through the funeral home. Survivors include her longtime companion, Ronald Carpenter of Adams; three grandchildren, Jennifer Mach-Rogus of Chicago, Lawrence Mach of Adams and Emil Cashin of Acton, Maine; a great-granddaughter, Clara Rogus of Chicago, and nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Ruth Hathaway and Jessie Souza.
