David G. Hubregsen

David G. Hubregsen, 56, of 144 West Park St. died Sunday at home. Born in Rochester, N.Y., on Dec. 20, 1948, son of Gerald A. and Ann M. Doran Hubregsen, he was a 1966 graduate of Bishop Kearney High School there. He earned a bachelor's degree in history from St. John Fisher College in Rochester and a master's degree in art history from Syracuse University. He moved to Lee in the 1970s. Mr. Hubregsen owned and operated Aardenburg Antiques, which was named after the small town in Holland from which his grandparents came. He started his business in 1977, and was known for his restoration work on antiques for dealers and auction houses along the East Coast. He enjoyed dining at the Highland Restaurant. He loved animals, and provided a home for those that were unwanted or abandoned. He leaves a sister, Annmarie McCormick-Goodhart of Dunkirk, Md. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for David Hubregsen, who died May 29, 2005, will be held Thursday at 1 at KELLY FUNERAL HOME in Lee. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 11 until the time of the funeral. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make donations to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of the funeral home, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238. Anyone wishing to give a home to any of the cats or rabbits he rescued can contact the funeral home. He also leaves his brother-in-law, Mark McCormick-Goodhart, and his niece and nephews, David, Matthew, Mark and Julie McCormick-Goodhart.
