Bennie Chrostowski, 94, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., formerly of Housatonic, died Wednesday at Mayes Center for Hope in Stuart, Fla. Born in Housatonic on May 12, 1911, son of Joseph and Anastasia Hoostowski, he attended schools there and the former Searles High School. Mr. Chrostowski was employed by the former Rising Paper Mill for 40 years, retiring in 1977. Earlier, he worked at Monument Mountain Cotton Mills for a short time. He moved to Port St. Lucie in 1982. His wife of 63 years, the former Emoline Nowobilski, died Aug. 8, 1999. He leaves his son-in-law and caretaker, William Davis of Port St. Lucie, two grandchildren and a great-grandchild. He was predeceased by a daughter, Dolores Chrostowski Davis. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Bennie Chrostowski, who died Wednesday, June 8, will be Monday, June 13, at 9 at the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at All Saints Church in Housatonic with the Rev. Anthony Jutt, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Bridget's Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Sunday, June 12, from 2 to 5 at the funeral home. He was predeceased by his brother, Stanley Hoostowski.
