Michael James Signor

Michael James Signor, 47, of 23 Hamlin St. died Saturday afternoon from injuries sustained after being struck by a motorcycle while crossing Pittsfield-Lenox Road in Lenox. Born in Plattsburgh, N.Y., on July 27, 1957, son of Michael and Marjorie Barnes Signor, he was a 1976 graduate of Pittsfield High School. At the time of his death, Mr. Signor was employed by Friendly's restaurant on Pittsfield-Lenox Road. He previously worked as a custodian for Stop & Shop, Price Chopper and Kentucky Fried Chicken, and as a laborer for Unistress. He was a member of the Brain Injury Association and in 1999 was named Survivor of the Year. He was a member of the former Imperials, Berkshire Pom-Poms and St. Mary's Cardinals drum and bugle corps. He was a Red Sox and Patriots fan, and had been the mascot for the former Berkshire Black Bears. He enjoyed karaoke and playing bingo and video games. In his youth, he played hockey in the Boys' Club leagues. Besides his parents, of Pittsfield, he leaves four brothers, Robert K. Signor, Keith W. Signor, Timothy A. Signor and Steven S. Signor, all of Pittsfield. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Michael James Signor, 47, will be conducted Thursday, June 16, at 11 a.m. at DERY FUNERAL HOME by the Rev. Gay M. Rahn, pastor of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Western Mass. Brain Injury support group in care of the funeral home, 54 Bradford St. He also leaves his nephews, Steven, Shane and Brian; his nieces, Jamie and Cheyenne, and his great-niece, Lillanna.
