Charlotte E. Exford, 85

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Charlotte E. Exford, 85, formerly of 19 Greene Ave., died Sunday, June 26, 2005, at Sweet Brook Care Centers in Williamstown, where she had resided since October 2002.
Born in Belfast, Maine, on March 17, 1920, daughter of Charles W. and Mary Walden Thomas, she moved to North Adams as a child and was educated in local schools.
Mrs. Exford was employed by Day Care of the Berkshires at Sarah T. Haskins School on State Street, retiring in 1998. Before that, she was a clerk at the former Boston Store.
She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church and a former member of its Ladies' Guild.
Her husband, Thurman Exford, died March 5, 1965.
She leaves two daughters, Diane L. Exford and Sandra Bissaillon and her husband, Joseph, all of North Adams; two stepdaughters, Sister Doris Exford of the Sisters of Providence in Holyoke and Barbara Blanchette and her husband, Donald, of Adams; four step-grandchildren, David Blanchette of Clarksburg, Stephen Blanchette of Apopka, Fla., Sue Timoneda of Chicopee and Barbara Martel of North Adams; three stepgreat-grandchildren, and a stepgreat-great-grandchild.
She was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Morocco, in 1955 and by a brother, Wallace J. Thomas, in 1976.
FUNERAL NOTICE — Services for Mrs. Exford will be conducted Wednesday, June 29, at 11 a.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church, Summer Street, North Adams, by the Rev. Bruce Duncan. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapels, 521 West Main St. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory are suggested for United Cerebral Palsy or the Multiple Sclerosis Association through the funeral home.
