Aldo J. Vignali

Aldo J. Vignali, 81, died yesterday at Craneville Place, where he had resided for the past two years. He was formerly of College Point, N.Y. Born in Corona, N.Y., on June 5, 1924, son of Anthony and Angelina Costa Vignali, he was a 1941 graduate of Queens Vocational School. A veteran of the Army, he served during World War II. Mr. Vignali was a mechanic for Trans World Airlines for 33 years. He was a member of St. Fidelis Church in College Point, N.Y. He and his wife, the former Frances Palumbo, were married Dec. 11, 1943. She died Aug. 10, 2003. He leaves a daughter, Patricia Rech of Cheshire; two brothers, Henry Vignali of New Mexico, and Joseph Anders of California; a sister, Gina Cohen of California, a grandchild and one great grandchild. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Aldo J. Vignali will be Thursday at 8:30 a.m. at St. Agnes' Catholic Church with the Rev. Christopher Malatesta officiating. Calling hours are Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at BARTLETTT-WELLINGTON FUNERAL HOME. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Flushing, N.Y. He also leaves a son-in-law, Bill Rech; a grandson, Bill Rech and his wife Michele, of Pittsford, N.Y.; a great granddaughter, Christiane Nicole. Donations in his memory may be made to the St. Agnes Memorial Fund or Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, in care of the funeral home 220 East St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
