Stewart K. Morton

Stewart K. Morton, 79, of 5 Clifford Lane died Sunday at Fenwood Manor Nursing Home in Manchester, Conn. Born in Easthampton on Jan. 13, 1927, son of Elmer J. Morton Sr. and Ruth Graves Morton, he was a 1950 graduate of the University of Massachusetts School of Electrical Engineering. A longtime resident of Amherst, he moved to Adams in 1990. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving from 1944 to 1946 in the occupation of Germany. Mr. Morton was employed by General Electric Co. and, later, was a civilian employee for the Navy. He was a member and past commander of Easthampton American Legion Post 224. He was predeceased by his wife, Bethel Morton. He leaves a brother, Clifton Morton of Amherst, and a sister Carolyn Feldman of Ellington, Conn. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Stewart K. Morton, who died Sunday, April 30, 2006, will be Wednesday, May 3, at 2 at DOUGLASS FUNERAL SERVICE, Amherst. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery. A calling hour will precede the service from 1 to 2. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice. Mr. Morton also leaves a brother- in-law, Walter Feldman of Ellington, Conn., and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Elmer J.
