Francis C. Hearn Jr.

Francis C. Hearn Jr., 71, of Egremont Plain Road died Monday at Fairview Hospital. Born in Foxboro on April 5, 1935, son of Francis C. Hearn Sr. and Rose Hotchkiss Hearn, he attended schools in Southfield, and was a member of the last class to graduate from the former Mill River High School. He was employed by Becton Dickinson in Canaan, Conn., as a set-up man in the molding department for 30 years, retiring in 1993. Previously, he was employed by Buggy Whip in Mill River and at the Mill River Store. He was a member of the Becton Dickinson softball team. He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing, watching the Red Sox and especially spending time with his grandson, Stephen. He leaves his wife, the former Julia "Judy" Tracy, whom he married on Feb. 21, 1969, in Hillsdale, N.Y. Besides his wife, he also leaves a daughter, Colleen P. Hearn of Tennessee; a son, Edward T. Hearn of Pittsfield; a sister, Pauline Hearn of Attleboro; a brother, Robert Hearn of Foxboro, and a grandson. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Funeral services for Francis C. Hearn Jr., who died Monday, May 8, 2006, will be held on Friday, May 12, at 10 a.m. from BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME, with the Rev. Anthony Jutt officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Stockbridge. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, May 11, from 4 to 7 p.m.. Expressions of sympathy in Francis' memory may be made to the Respiratory Therapy Department at Fairview Hospital in care of the funeral home, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA 01230. He also leaves daughter-in-law, Patricia; a grandson, Stephen, and a nephew, Robert Hearn Jr.
