Calvin Patrick King

Calvin Patrick King, 80, of 611 State Rd., Holy Family Terrace, North Adams, died Wednesday at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. Born in Adams on Aug. 18, 1925, son of Clarence and Irene Gannon King, he attended schools in Williamstown. Mr. King served off Normandy with the U.S. Coast Guard. He was employed as a press operator for Williams College, from Nov. 21, 1977, retiring on Aug. 31, 1990. He was a communicant of St. Patrick's Church, Williamstown. He was a member of the Williamstown Post 152 American Legion and the National Rifle Association. His wife, the former Josephine "Chick" LeRay, whom he married Jan. 31, 1947, died Jan. 2, 2005. He leaves a daughter, Kelly Miner of North Adams; two sons, Patrick and Wayne King, both of North Adams; five grandchildren, and a great-grandchild. FUNERAL NOTICE --The funeral for Calvin Patrick King, who died Wednesday, May 17, 2006, will be held on Saturday, May 20, at 9 a.m. from AUGE-SAN SOUCIE-SIMMONS Funeral Home, 46 North Church St. , North Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church, Williamstown. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery, Williamstown. Calling hours are Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Williamstown Post 152 American Legion through the funeral home. He leaves two daughters-in-law, Ruth and Cindy, and his daughter's fiancé, Jeff; his favorite nephew, Earl King, Jr., and many other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Earl King.
