Monica B. Alibozek

Monica B. Alibozek, 85, of 22 East Road died yesterday at North Adams Regional Hospital. Born in Adams on July 11, 1920, daughter of Albert and Bronislawa Gancarz Stawarz, she attended schools in Adams. Mrs. Alibozek worked at the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Co., and became a homemaker after her marriage. She was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church. She and her husband James Alibozek, were married July 1, 1939. Besides her husband, she leaves three daughters, Virginia "Ginger" M. Piekos and Florence T. Hoellerich, both of Cheshire, and Joan M. Marko of Adams.; a son, Peter J. Alibozek of Adams; a brother, Chester Stawarz of Utica, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Monica B. Alibozek, who died Thursday, May 18, 2006, will be held on Monday, May 22, at 9 a.m. from AUGE-PACIOREK-SIMMONS FUNERAL HOME, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours are Sunday afternoon from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Elder Services Meals on Wheels Program, or the Adams Ambulance Service through the funeral home, 13 Hoosac St., Adams. She was predeceased by three sisters, Celia Bond, Gladys Turcotte and Sr. Mary Brunona, CSSF; three brothers; Stanley, Frank, and Alfred Stawarz; a grandson, Derek Hoellerich; a son-in-law, Kasey Piekos, and by a daughter-in-law, Kathryn Alibozek.
