Remo Gabriel Osanni

Remo Gabriel Osanni, 79, of 37 Main St., died yesterday morning at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Cheshire on March 21, 1927, son of the late Gabriel and Germenia Graziani Osanni, he attended schools in Cheshire and Adams. A World War II Army veteran, he was employed by the General Electric Company for 35 years, retiring as an inspector in 1987. At one time, he had served on the Cheshire Cemetery Commission and the Cheshire Water Commission. He was a member of the Cheshire Rod and Gun Club and of the Berkshire County Deputy Sheriff's Association. He enjoyed hunting, motorcycle riding and target shooting, and was an enthusiastic outdoorsman. He also built large-model engine airplanes. Mr. Osanni was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church. His wife, the former Sadie E. Ellis, whom he married Oct. 19, 1949, died May 6, 1995. He leaves two daughters, Pamela J. St. John of Cheshire and Nancy A. Lavigne of Lincoln, R.I.; a sister, Mary Yon of Pittsfield; and three grandsons. He was predeceased by a son, Gary J. Osanni. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Remo G. Osanni, who died Thursday, May 25, 2006, will be held on Wednesday, May 31, at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Cheshire, celebrated by the Rev. David Raymond, pastor. Burial will follow in the family plot at Cheshire Cemetery. At the request of Mr. Osanni, there are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Church, Cheshire, in care of DERY-CHESHIRE FUNERAL HOME, 121 North State Road, Cheshire, MA 01225. Mr. Osanni is lovingly survived by his three grandsons, Patrick and Nathan Lavigne and Ed St. John, and by his son-in-law, Ed St. John. He was predeceased by a brother, John Osanni and a sister, Gloria Metallo.
