Raymond Samuel Seymour

Raymond Samuel Seymour, 83, of 116 Bonair Ave. died yesterday at North Adams Regional Hospital. Born in North Adams on Nov. 9, 1922, son of Samuel and Mary Louise Lemoine Seymour, he attended Drury High School. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II. Mr. Seymour owned D&S Appliance with his partner, Michael Downey, for 20 years. He retired in 1990. Before that, he was the manager of Central Radio in Adams. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Church and a former member of Greylock Community Club. He enjoyed boxing and followed all of the New England professional sports teams, including the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. He and his wife, the former Lorraine J. Dubreuil, would have celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary Aug. 13. They were married in Notre Dame Church; Besides his wife, he leaves three sons, Dennis R. Seymour of Stafford Springs, Conn., Craig A. Seymour of North Adams and Douglas A. Seymour of Mesa, Ariz.; a daughter, Donna M. Seymour of North Hero, Vt., and a granddaughter. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Raymond Seymour, who died Wednesday, July 26, 2006, will be conducted tonight at 8 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, WEST CHAPEL, by the Rev. Daniel J. O'Hear. Burial will be at a later date in Southview Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be from 5 to 8. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners' Children's Hospital in care of the funeral home. Survivors include a granddaughter, Tara Miner of Queens, N.Y. His sister, Roma Beaudreau, and his brother, Lawrence Simard, are deceased.
