William F. Danylin

William F. Danylin, 72, of 36 Longview Road died suddenly Thursday morning in Lanesborough. Born in Pittsfield on Aug. 7, 1933, son of Helen Nylic Danylin and the late William Danylin, he was a 1951 graduate of Pittsfield High School. He was an Army veteran. He was employed by the Richmond Bakery as a baker for many years, retiring in 1999. He was a communicant of St. Charles Church. He was also president of the Lanesborough Historical Society and a director of the Pittsfield Sportsman's Club. He was a member of the Hancock Shaker Village. He loved hiking and fishing, and was a Civil War buff. He and his wife, the former Arline A. Clow, were married June 29, 1974. Besides his wife, and his mother, of Pittsfield, he leaves two brothers, Thomas A. Danylin and Ronald B. Danylin, both of Pittsfield, and two sisters, Joan M. Leydet of Chesapeake, Va., and Carol Ann Gifford of Pittsfield. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Private funeral services for family and friends of William F. Danylin, who died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2006, will be held at noon on Wednesday, Aug. 9 at DWYER FUNERAL HOME. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to meet at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to a charity of one's choice. He also leaves several nieces and nephews, and his beloved cat, Molly. He was predeceased by a brother, Jack Danylin, in 2004. Everyone is invited to 30 Plinn St. on Wednesday, Aug. 9 beginning around 1 p.m.
