Robert L. Collins

Robert L. Collins, 62, of 13 Murray St. died Wednesday evening, at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in West Stockbridge on Oct. 8, 1943, son of the late Francis and Mabel Fiehrer Collins, he attended schools in West Stockbridge and Pittsfield. Mr. Collins worked for the Up Country Bakery in Pittsfield as a cook until his illness. Prior to that, he worked for 27 years for the General Electric Co. as an assembler in various departments. He moved to Adams in 1996. In his earlier years, he enjoyed and owned show horses and also was a four-wheel-drive car enthusiast. Besides his wife, the former Jeannette Levesque, whom he married July 30, 1999, he leaves two daughters, Christine Bosma of New Ashford and Cathy Collins of Pittsfield; three stepsons, Shawn Bohl of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Mitchell Harris and Richard Bohl, both of North Adams; three grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Robert L. Collins, who died Aug. 23, 2006, will take place Saturday, Aug. 26, at 11 a.m. from TROTTIER-PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, Adams, with the Rev. Robert R. Moulton, deacon of the Catholic Community of Adams, officiating. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery in North Adams. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Donations in his memory can be made to the Adams Ambulance Fund through the funeral home, 6 Summer St., Adams, MA 01220. He leaves three grandchildren, Cory Collins, and Courtney and Anthony Bosma, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Edward and Ronald Collins, and two sisters, Alice Kickery and Janice McCagg.
