John H. Campbell III

John H. Campbell III, 85, of Hickory Road, Niskayuna, N.Y., father of Patricia Tremblay of Lanesborough, died Wednesday at Roswell Park Cancer Institute after a short illness. Born in Troy, N.Y., on July 24, 1921, son of John H. Campbell Jr. and Mary Hannan Campbell, he graduated from Troy High School. After living in Troy and Utica, N.Y., he moved to Schenectady in 1961. An Army veteran of World War II, he earned a Bronze Star. In 1968, Mr. Campbell founded Standard Copy Products Inc. in Latham, N.Y. He served as president for 20 years before retiring in 1992. He and his wife, the former M. Patricia DeWald, were married 52 years. Besides his wife and daughter, he leaves two other daughters, Cande Campbell and Cindy Campbell, both of the state of Florida; three sons, Dr. John H. Campbell IV of Buffalo, N.Y., Michael T. Campbell of Los Angeles and Martin F. Campbell of Virginia Beach, Va.; a sister, Elizabeth Judge of Troy; and eight grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for John H. Campbell III, who died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2006, will be Monday, Sept. 25, at 8:15 from DALY FUNERAL HOME INC., 242 McClellan St., Schenectady, N.Y., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 at St. Luke's Church in Schenectady. Interment will be in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, N.Y., with military honors. Calling hours will be tomorrow from 4 to 8 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke's Church, 1241 State St., Schenectady, NY 12304. He also leaves a son-in-law, George Tremblay; two daughters-in-law, Dr. Heidi C. Crow (John) and Eva (Michael) Campbell; and eight grandchildren, John H. Campbell V, Kelsey E. Campbell, Johanna M., Jeanna N., Mary M. and Allison T. Tremblay, and Dylan R. and Madeleine C. Campbell. He was predeceased by two sisters, Mary Purificato and Shirley Mainello, and by a brother, Walter Campbell.
