Muriel "Kit" King

Muriel "Kit" King, 80, of 198 Shadowland Cove and 300 West Airport Blvd., Sanford, Fla., died Wednesday, at Orlando (Fla.) Regional Medical Center. Born in North Adams on Aug. 21, 1926, daughter of Alfred and Susanna Dale Hood, she attended the former Freeman School and graduated from Drury High School in 1944. Mrs. King was vice president and office manager of E.A. French Co. Insurance Agency Inc. in North Adams. Before that, she worked at the former Sprague Electric Co. on Brown Street and at the former Clark Biscuit Co., both in North Adams. At the latter company, she was a secretary to the general manager. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and a former communicant of St. Francis' Church in North Adams. She served two terms as both president and secretary of the Cheshire Kiwanis Club. She and her husband, Thomas R. King, were married April 23, 1949. Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Craig T. King of Cheshire and Richard F. King of Mableton, Ga.; two daughters, Tammy Foucher of Sanford and Robyn J. King, both of Sanford; and four grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Muriel "Kit" King, who died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2006, will be celebrated Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006, at St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Cheshire. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery, North Adams. Calling hours at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, WEST CHAPEL, North Adams, are Tuesday, Nov. 14, from 7 to 9. Memorial donations are suggested for the Eileen Barrett Foundation, Hospice of the Comfort, 480 West Central Parkway, Altamonte, FL 32714, or to VNA & Hospice of Northern Berkshire, both through the funeral home, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA 01247. She also leaves two daughters-in-law, Sylvia and Elizabeth King; a son-in-law, George Foucher; and four grandchildren, Kevin, Kyle, Megan and Nicholas King.
