Anne Marian Weinberg

Anne Marian Weinberg, 80, of Silver Street died yesterday at home. Born in New York on July 1, 1926, daughter of Philip and Rose Schumowitz Shapiro, she graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Brooklyn and attended night school at Brooklyn College. She moved to Far Rockaway, N.Y., in 1946. Mrs. Weinberg worked as a bookkeeper and auditor for a certified public accountant. After the death of her husband, David Weinberg, in 1976, she moved to Monterey, where she was a member of the Monterey Arts Council, the South County Committee of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Mental Retardation and Hevreh of South Berkshire. She was treasurer for Southern Berkshire Hadassah for eight years. She also was a charter member and officer for many years for the Foundation for Brain Injured Children in New York. She moved to Great Barrington in 2001. She and her husband were married Dec. 21, 1946. She leaves a daughter, Lynn Faith Weinberg of Pittsfield, and a sister, Estelle Crocker of Atlantic Highland, N.J. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Anne Marian Weinberg, who died Nov. 5, 2006, will be conducted today, Nov. 6, 2006, at 10 at FINNERTY & STEVENS FUNERAL HOME in Great Barrington by Rabbi Deborah Zecher and Rabbi Andrew Klein. Burial will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery in Flushing, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Epileptic Foundation through the funeral home, 426 Main St., Great Barrington, MA 01230. She also leaves two nephews, Alan and Robert Crocker; two surrogate grandchildren, David and Pamela Baron, and three surrogate great-grandchildren, Arielle, Haley and Evan Baron.
