Fate Wright

Fate Wright, 83, formerly of 90 Robbins Ave., died Sunday at Hillcrest Commons, where he had resided since October 2005. Born in Junction City, Ark., on April 9, 1923, son of Fate and Gertrude Allen Brown, he was educated in schools there. He served in the Navy. Mr. Wright was employed as a laborer for Petricca Construction Co. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. His wife, the former Centaroy Glasson, whom he married in the 1940s, died in 1986. He leaves two daughters, Alice Brown of California and Gerry Brown of Los Angeles, and a brother, Melvin Brown of Eldorado, Ark. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A memorial service for Fate Wright, who died Sunday, Nov. 5, will be conducted Thursday, Nov. 9, at 1 at DERY FUNERAL HOME by the Rev. William D. Furey, pastor of Berkshire Union Chapel. Burial will take place at a later date in Arkansas. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Wright may be made to Hillcrest Commons Activities Fund, in care of Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
