Charles Robert Zank

Charles Robert Zank, 58, of 5 Williamstown Road, Pontoosuc Condominiums, formerly of Pittsfield, died Sunday at home. He moved from Pittsfield to Lanesborough six months ago. Born in Monticello, N.Y., on Nov. 11, 1947, son of Ann Rosen Zank and the late William Zank, he was a 1965 graduate of Monticello High School and a 1971 graduate of the University of New Paltz in New York. He also graduated from Greenfield Community College in 1995 with a degree in nursing. For the past five months, Mr. Zank had been employed by North Adams Regional Hospital as a registered nurse. Before that, he was a nurse at Mount Greylock Extended Care Facility in Pittsfield for seven years. Prior to his nursing career, he was an insurance agent for New York Life and Mass Mutual Insurance companies. He also was an agent trainer for Mass Mutual. He enjoyed boating and skiing and was a licensed pilot. Besides his mother, of New Haven, Conn., he leaves two sons, Steven P. Zank of Greenfield and William T. Zank of Charlemont; a sister, Susan C. Morse of Newtown, Conn., and two grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Charles R. Zank, who died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2006, will be private and at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to the Berkshire Visiting Nurse Association or HospiceCare in the Berkshires, both in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, which is handling arrangements. Mr. Zank is lovingly survived by his two grandchildren, Shyla Marie Zank and Megan Elizabeth Zank; a nephew, Joshua Morse; a niece, Jessica Morse; and his brother-in-law, Neil Morse.
