Ida May Spencer

Ida May Spencer, 89, of 151 Main St. died Friday at Timberlyn Heights Nursing Center. Born on Dec. 26, 1916, daughter of Elmer L. and Lúra Maxwell Spencer, she attended schools in New Marlborough. She was employed as a housekeeper and waitress for various homes in the Egremont area. She was a member of the First Congregational Church, and enjoyed bird watching and making bird feeders. She leaves a niece. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A graveside service for Ida May Spencer, who died Friday, Nov. 10, 2006, will be held on Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Carroll Cemetery in Mill River with the Rev. Charles VanAusdall officiating. There are no calling hours. BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME, 33 South St., Great Barrington, is in charge of arrangements. She leaves her niece, Patti Altrock of Crescent, N.Y., and her good friend and caregiver, Barbara Kiriakedes of Sheffield.
