Elizabeth Couture

Elizabeth Couture, 96, of 12 Country Club Ave. died Saturday at Williamstown Commons in Williamstown. Born in Fall River on Nov. 9, 1910, daughter of Albert and Elizabeth Oldham Harrison, she moved to Adams as a child and attended local schools. A homemaker, she worked at the former Atlas and at the former Hoosac Drive-In theaters in earlier years. She was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church and enjoyed reading the Bible. Her husband, Fred H. Couture, whom she married Sept. 4, 1933, died July 25, 2003. She leaves three daughters, Claire Nowak of Cheshire, and June Couture and Joan Couture, both of Adams. FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Elizabeth Couture, who died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006, will be conducted Wednesday at 11 at First Baptist Church in Adams by the Rev. Donald Gray, pastor. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams. There will be no calling hours. Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church through TROTTIER PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Summer St., Adams, MA 01220, which is in charge of arrangements. She also leaves a son-in-law, Ted; a sister-in-law, Blanche Harrison of Adams; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers, Carl, Herbert, Percy and William Harrison; by two sisters, Miriam Mooney and Elsie Klammer; and by a grandson, Thad James Nowak. She enjoyed spending time with her family and had a great love of animals, especially her dogs.
