Stanley Janik

Stanley Janik, 94, of 34 Crotteau St. died yesterday, Dec. 15, 2006, at Williamstown Commons. Born in Adams on Aug. 2, 1912, son of Joachim and Amalia Brach Janik, he attended local schools. A Navy veteran of World War II, he served in the American, Pacific, European and Middle Eastern theaters and was honorably discharged in 1946. Mr. Janik worked at the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams for 37 years, retiring in 1977. Earlier, he worked for the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Associates. He was a communicant of St. Stanislaus' Church. He and his wife, the former Isabel Bernat, were married May 22, 1940. Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Edward Janik of Adams; a daughter, Barbara Janik of Adams; and two grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- The funeral for Stanley Frank Janik, who died Friday, Dec. 15, 2006, will be Tuesday, Dec. 19, at 11:30 from PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 12:30 at St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams, celebrated by the Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, pastor of the Catholic Parishes of Adams. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus' Cemetery, Adams. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 10:30 to 11:30 at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to United Cerebral Palsy of North County, P.O. Box 935, North Adams, MA 01247, or through the funeral home. He also leaves a daughter-in-law, Ann; two grandchildren, Deborah O'Brien of Springfield and Brian Janik of Adams; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
