Mary I. Ricchi

Mary I. Ricchi, 93, formerly of Pittsfield and McKinney, Texas, died Sunday at the Cogburn Health & Rehabilitation Center in Huntsville, Ala. Born in Cassine, Province of Alessandria, Italy, on Jan. 1, 1913, daughter of Frank and Josephine Evaldi Guachione, she came to Pittsfield in 1914 and attended Pittsfield schools. She was employed by the former Berkshire Coat Factory on Columbus Avenue for 15 years, retiring in 1974. She and her husband, Peter P. Ricchi, who died Feb. 13, 2003, were married Sept. 26, 1931, at Mount Carmel Church. She leaves a son, Ronald R. Ricchi of Huntsville, Ala.; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. FUNERAL NOTICE -- A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Mary I. Ricchi, who died Sunday, Dec. 17, 2006, will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. at Mount Carmel Church by the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker, CSS, pastor. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Peter's Cemetery in Great Barrington. Calling hours are Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St. She also leaves two grandchildren, Raymond R. Ricchi of McKinney, Texas, and Ronald R. Ricchi Jr. of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and six great-grandchildren, Cassandra, Francesca and Lindsey Ricchi of Colorado Springs and Michael Peter, Heather Ann and Kyle Ray Ricchi of McKinney, Texas. She was predeceased by two brothers, John and Charles Guachione; and four sisters, Isabella Miksa, Catherine Occhiena, Mildred Gai and Viola Scarafoni.
